What is BlueLine?
BlueLine keeps the operational pieces of a freediving competition together. The event library can hold many competitions, while the workspace focuses on one active event at a time. Each competition is configured for Depth or Pool disciplines.

A practical walkthrough
Follow these steps for a first session. You can return to the same workflow whenever you use the app.
- Create an eventOpen Events and choose New competition. Name the event, choose Depth or Pool, add dates, location, timezone, and judges on duty.
- Set the event scheduleChoose the disciplines and categories. Set the date, first athlete start time, and interval for each category, then save.
- Register competitorsAdd each athlete’s name, country/team, category, disciplines, number of starts, and personal bests.
- Arrange startsOpen Start list, select discipline and category, set the running order, enter announced performances, and save the order.
- Run the dayKeep Overview open to watch queue positions, planned times, live countdowns, the current/next athlete, and recent results. Firefox on Windows is recommended when relying on spoken countdown calls, including Official Top.
- Record and review resultsEnter the attempt with official performance, judges, card and any penalty. Edit a result when needed; the correction history remains available.
- Back up the eventExport the active competition or full library CSV. Use a full backup CSV to restore; a results-only export is for reporting.
Useful details to know
- Depth events offer CWT, FIM, CNF, and CWTB. Pool events offer STA, DYN, DYNB, and DNF.
- Pool competition mode is fully tested. Depth competition mode is not yet fully tested.
- Only one competition mode applies to an event. Switching a populated event between modes can clear incompatible entries and results; export a backup first.
- For the most reliable spoken audio countdowns, use Firefox on Windows. Other browsers may not speak every countdown call as expected, especially the Official Top call. Make sure event dates, timezone, start times, intervals, and the computer clock are accurate; the browser may also need a first interaction to enable audio.
- BlueLine helps organize records; judges remain responsible for official decisions under the current rulebook and event regulations.
Common questions
Can I manage more than one competition?
Yes. The event library stores many events. Open one event at a time as the active workspace.
Does BlueLine work offline?
The app is static and stores a local copy in browser storage. For cross-device use, configure optional Google Drive sync and export backups regularly.
Which CSV should I use to restore data?
Use the full competition or full-library backup CSV. Results-only and roster CSVs are reporting exports.
